In 2023, LA BIBI established an artist residency program to further its commitment to supporting artists worldwide in the development of meaningful and thought-provoking projects. The residency is housed in a restored former industrial warehouse — a lasting testament to Mallorca’s vanished 19th-century textile industry.
Since its inception, the programme has hosted a diverse group of artists from Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Oceania, reflecting a strong commitment to international mobility and artistic exchange. Residencies typically last one month and are developed either as individual projects or as collaborative residencies involving two artists.
Just as artisan weavers once balanced fieldwork with time at their family looms, the LA BIBI + REUS Residency sits between urban and rural landscapes. It offers a peripheral view of Palma Bay and privileged sightlines toward the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The space is designed to cover all essential needs, with a kitchen, dedicated workspace, bathroom, storage solutions, and comfortable bedroom furnishings.
