I was born on January 21, 1990, in Madrid.

I grew up in the heart of a typical traditional Chinese family in the city. Most of my childhood was spent sitting at a restaurant table, surrounded by the scent of spring rolls and Cantonese rice, endlessly doodling on scraps of paper.

One evening, while our neighbor Fernando was having dinner at the restaurant, he leaned over and asked me:

— Do you like drawing?
— Yes.
— Would you like to learn how to paint?
— Mmm… yes, sir.
— Then I’ll introduce you to my friend Mariano. He’s a painter. He can teach you properly at his studio. Don’t worry, he won’t charge you anything. We’ll go see him tomorrow, alright?
— …

And that’s how it all began — with a scribbled napkin.
