Srger

Biography

Sergio Gómez, also known as Srger (Seville, 1983), is an artist shaped by the public space — a context that has profoundly influenced his way of looking at the world. His gaze is drawn to everything that casually appears or is left behind on the street: traces of paint, wooden planks, textured walls, marks on the pavement, tape, rubble, scratches. This attentive observation has led him to develop a visual language that blends gestural, almost calligraphic movements with fields of color created through the use of diverse materials.

Srger’s work is marked by imperfect strokes and stains that, rather than disrupting, reinforce his command over pictorial space. His interventions often transcend specific places, formats, and surfaces, expanding across different scales and textures. Driven by a constant desire to experiment, he continuously incorporates new shapes and signs into his vocabulary — a process that begins with a daily practice of drawing, where he challenges himself to explore and expand the limits of his own language.
