Fausto Amundarain’s artistic practice is deeply rooted in research and an ongoing exploration of identity through diverse visual references. His work draws inspiration from the symbolic language of children’s icons, comics, press photography, and elements of the collective imagination. Each image, element, and discovery undergoes an interpretive process marked by obsessive attention to detail, resulting in meticulously analyzed and transformed compositions that serve as powerful interpretive stimuli.

With a strong emphasis on technical precision, Amundarain’s projects are methodically constructed, integrating both two- and three-dimensional structures. His creative process involves a dynamic range of actions—searching, selecting, dissecting, printing, cutting, dividing, overlapping, assembling, marking, hiding, and revealing—allowing for the manipulation and transformation of narrative structures. Whether drawing from reality or fiction, his compositions incorporate figurative elements that challenge, deconstruct, and reframe existing narratives.

By fragmenting and reassembling visual information, Amundarain’s work challenges perception and invites the viewer to engage with a dynamic, reconstructed narrative. Trained in Art and Design in Caracas in 2010, Amundarain later refined his skills in screen printing, drawing, and painting in New York City in 2014. These disciplines continue to inform his practice, reinforcing a commitment to both conceptual depth and meticulous craftsmanship.
