The Last Nomad

Alejandro Monge places the human body at the center of a reflection on how technology transforms our relationship with our surroundings. His figures, connected to machines and devices, inhabit the tension between new possibilities for connection and growing forms of isolation.

This contradiction is condensed in The Last Nomad. The motorcycle, a symbol of freedom and movement, stands still beside a figure suspended between the possibility of leaving and the inability to do so. Monge thus transforms an image of freedom into a scene of waiting and uncertainty, questioning whether our increased ability to move and connect actually makes us any freer.
